Innovative and curious Head of Product Development for PanzerGlass

We want to expand our team with a Head of Product Development for our newly established Product Development team – you will be reporting directly to EVP Operations. The person will be working from our HQ in Hinnerup but will have 60+ travel days a year. 

The role

As Head of Product Development at PanzerGlass A/S, you will join an international sales organisation who has to be at the forefront of everything that goes on within our industry to ensure that nothing and no one beats PanzerGlass.

The main purpose of the position is to elevate innovation capabilities to meet customer demands in an everchanging industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of business and science, being analytically sharp and have an empathetic mindset, understanding customers’ needs before they understand themselves.

This is a central position within our organisation. You will, together with your team, be the link between sales and marketing to ensure product understanding and clear project management of launching new products to the market. You will also be heading a team – today consisting of one Product Development Specialist, and you will be responsible for growing the team in the future.

Making a difference

This role requires extensive traveling in Asia and deciding PanzerGlass’ participation in various exhibitions to obtain the newest knowledge about products and trends in the market. Based on the input you gain and the analysis conducted we expect you to be able to come with clear recommendations on product development. But we expect more than that – we expect you to drive and own the projects from early idea-generation to development to product launch. A vital partner in this process is, of course, our internal organisation – therefore you will also be working closely with the organisation to gain input and feedback on ideas and product development.

Moreover, speed to market and follow up is the key to success in this role as we otherwise lose our competitive edge as competition is fierce. Moreover, you are open-minded, hard-working, willing to adapt to an ever-changing environment, and you set the bar high when it comes to quality and accuracy. At the same time, you are not afraid to challenge the status quo and make changes. You have outstanding management skills, stakeholder management skills, and know-how to create strong relations across borders and cultures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ensure speed to market and a first-mover approach
  • create product plans and roadmaps
  • proactively develop current and future PanzerGlass products
  • collect needs and inspiration on products from the organisation
  • facilitate the sourcing of products primarily in China
  • develop products assortments also besides glass-related products
  • gather and structure data on market trends, features, and competition
  • drive a high pace in the product development phase
  • ensure that PanzerGlass develop and launch new products with a significant news value

 

QUALIFICATIONS – we expect that you:

  • have experience from a similar position with product development on an international level
  • have a solid technical background with commercial awareness
  • know how and where to proactively gather information on market trends and development
  • know how to spot a good business opportunity and develop it from an opportunity to a success
  • are fluent in English both oral and written – Chinese is a plus
  • can juggle many different tasks at a time and know-how to create a strong structure
  • work independently, make good decisions fast and are not afraid of taking on the responsibility
